¿no hay alguna opción para hacerlo compatible con SEO? el otro día estaba leyendo encima este artículo: http://www.eduardomartinezblog.com/sitios-joomla-mal-seo y la verdad es que me gustaría que todo fuera más fácil entre Joomla y los buscadores ¿me puedes recomendar algo?

Puedes probar a activar el SEO, pero marcando los dos primeros parámetros de la configuración global (o sea todos menos Agrega sufijo a la URL).

¿Has probado a editar los productos desde el backend, para comprobar si tienes el mismo problema de guardar el stock'.

desde el backend todo funciona bien.

Nada, activando sólo las dos primeras opciones tampoco.

Prefiero tener el SEO activado, aunque tendré que dedicarle horas a enseñarle al cliente a no romper nada...

Tienes la última versión de virtuemart?, si ya tienes la última versión, al parecer puede ser un bug que se corrige en las futuras versiones

si, acabo de instalar la última versión. Ya he hecho todas las combianciones posibles. Finalmente conseguí que guardara los cambios desde el frontend (desactivando todo el SEO) pero me lleva a una página en blanco. Además se me descuageringa toda la web xq no me funciona ningún link al cambiar la configuración del SEO. Total que se queda como está y actualizamos desde el backend.

Te sugiero primero realizar un backup con Akkeba, luego actualiza tu Joomla a la última versión estable.
